Cedar Creek Sportsman's Club Meeting
June 21, 2005

The monthly meeting was called to order by Gary Napier, President.
Curt Herrington gave the blessing on our meal of hot dogs, cole-slaw, baked beans, bread, and desserts. 60 members & 3 visitors present.

Gary Napier resumed the meeting after our meal with >roll call of officers and board members. Officers/Board members present: Gary Napier, R.C. Taylor, Brenda Williams, Debbie Muse, Paul Young, Julian Gander, Les Gooch, Alvie Atwood, Joe Amburgey, Steve Isaacs and alternate, Paul French. Absent board mbrs: R.C. Taylor

Minutes from May meeting read by Kathy Napier, (secretary, Brenda Williams doing memberships). Joe Amburgey made motion to accept minutes as read, Phillip Adams seconded, minutes were accepted, no amendments.

Mike Taylor gave financial report: $$$$ in our checking acct. Interest per year, approx $ at 6 &1/2 % interest rate, fixed. The club owes $…borrowed $. Bank statements given to club secretary. William Earl Denham made motion to accept, Rick Muse seconded, report accepted.

Other Club & Committee Reports:

Quail Unlimited: Les Gooch reported they had held their annual meeting June 18th, around 40 members present. $3700 on banquet.

Skeet Club: Julian Gander reported skeet range was completed. Open to club members, Mondays & Thursdays 5pm to 10:30pm. Cost $4.00 per round includes box of shells. Approximately 17 shot June 20th.

Archery Club: Mike Smith reported the next Archery Meet would be July 10th. At the June 5th shoot, there were 32 shooters. Big Buck contest this year, first ever event.

Rifle range: No reports.

Beagle Club: David Long reported they had their first hunt approved by AKC. The Beagle Club is now a member of the AKC (American Kennel Club). Aug 13, next trial date.

Coon Club: No members present.

Old Business:

-Gary Napier reported that Eddie Carter, Stanford Mayor, won the Ruger Pistol. Mr. Carter has donated the pistol back to the club to be used to raise funds for the club. Profit from the Ruger Pistol went towards concrete for the skeet range.

-There are no other details known about CCSC &Rotary Club giving our elderly adults a sight-seeing tour of Cedar Creek Lake.

New Business:

-Joyce Kitts needs recipes for our recipe book.

-Drawing for zero-turn lawnmower will be July 4th at the fair.

-Sign up sheet for workers at the fair.

-2006 Board of Directors nominated.

-Gary Napier requested board members stay after meeting adjourns.

Debbie Muse, events calendar coordinator, reported that Bill Hayes had phoned her for a date of Sept 10th, 7:30am to 5pm for another Hunter Education Class.

Stanford Mayor, Eddie Carter, invited the club to add a float to the upcoming Lincoln County Historical Society Parade. It is a celebration of the 225th year of Lincoln County.

Raffle tickets are now available to win a ‘Ruger Pistol’. Proceeds from sell of tickets go to pay for concrete used to complete the skeet range.

R.C. Taylor has had tickets made for our Bush Hog (zero-turn) lawnmower. Tickets will be available for Club members to sell later on. .

Tommie Gooch ask for money donation to purchase drinks for next meeting. Phillip Adams will collect the money and make purchase. Anyone wishing to give money on paper products can give that to Debbie Adams. We collected $ for drinks.

Betty Frazier suggested members look for items at home to bring and use as door prizes at our monthly meetings.

Gary Napier, brought up that the date we had set for CCSC &Rotary Club to give our elderly adults a sight-seeing tour of Cedar Creek Lake was not a good date for the Rotary Club.
