CEDAR CREEK SPORTSMAN’S CLUB MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 21, 2004

Club President, Gary Napier, welcomed everyone.
Club Chaplain, Curt Herrington, said the blessing.
Meal (Hot dogs, etc.) was served. Sign-in sheet shows 84 members present.

Order of Business: President Gary Napier
Roll call of Officers:  Mike Taylor absent
Roll call for Board of Directors: Paul Young, and Steve Isaccs absent.
Minutes read by Kathy Napier, filling in for Secretary Brenda Willliams. Motion made to  accept minutes as read and approved.
No Financial report given.
Drawing for boat. Billy Boswell was the lucky winner.

Report of Committees:

Quail Unlimited : Ray Hammonds reported that hopefully the National Amateur Field Trials should be held here. Everything was going well.

New Business:

October 2, 2004 will be the Hunters Education Class to be held here at the Sportsman’s Club.

Discussed plans for Fish Fry to be held at the club next Saturday Sept 25, 2004. 5:30 pm.

Asked for volunteers for cole slaw. Pies and cakes will be donated by Scott Rogers, discussion on parking arrangements, the bikes and auction. Also shown was the Ky Long-rifle to be auctioned .

Our beautiful flags adorned the podium. The American Flag on the left and the Kentucky State Flag on the right. A special Thank you  to James Ray Manuel for making and donating the stands, Betty and Bill Frazier for the American Flag, and to William Earl Denham for the Kentucky State Flag.

A Thank You surprise will be held in the near future in honor of all our hard working members and volunteers who have done so much for our club. We are open for suggestions.

Speakers: 

Circuit Judge Jeff Burdette who served as County Attorney for Rockcastle Co. for 10 years spoke on his experience and his life as an outdoorsman.

Luzia Foster with Kentucky Tourism explained the Red Bud Trail project going on in Lincoln Co. and if we would like to have red bud saplings to be planted at the club. Board members met and requested around 150 saplings to be given to us free sometime in November.

Door prizes were given.
